Aqua Planet Hosts 2018 World’s Largest Swimming Lesson in Philippines

MABALACAT CITY – In an attempt to break the Guinness World Record and to take part in its cause, the Philippines has joined the 2018 World’s Largest Swimming Lesson for the first time last June 21, 2018, at Aqua Planet Water Park, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

Around 1000 Pupils and students from selected schools, kids from Orphanages, Government and non-government organizations, children from the Aeta Communities in Mabalacat City and Persons with disabilities participated in the said activity. Aside from the Philippines, the WLSL was also held simultaneously in 28 different countries all over the world.

Dr. Ireneo “Bong” Alvaro Jr., BBI Foundation Chairman and President, expressed his utmost gratitude for the success of the WLSL which he called historical as it was the first time of the country and of Clark to join such huge event.

Themed “Swimming Lessons Save Lives” the WLSL aimed to teach the participants the basics of swimming which will help them prevent any drowning incident thus saving their lives. Leilani Cunanan, OIC-SDS, DepEd Angeles City Division, added that learning how to swim is important because it can also boost the children’s self-confidence.
