History of Barangay Lakandula
Carved out of the progressive barangay Dau in the Municipality of Mabalacat, Barangay Lakandula is what was mostly a former area of land called “Bernardo Subdivision” currently consisting of thirteen (13) numbered parallel streets (from 7th to 19th) traversed by various horizontal streets. With an estimated population of 4,000, Barangay Lakandula, as of 2010, gets an internal revenue allotment of around 2.7 million. Being strategically located beside Clark Freeport’s Main Gate, the barangay is a home to numerous apartments and dormitories (I.E. bahay ni ate) of large capacities catering to the ever-growing workforce of the former airbase.
