MABALACAT CITY – Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has renewed his call to the city police to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs.

This was learned from Mabalacat City Legal Officer Emmanuel Ignacio during an interview with Sun.Star Pampanga on Friday.

“There is a personal directive from our mayor, Crisostomo C. Garbo, to our chief of police to implement fully the policy of our president, Rody Duterte, on our anti-drug campaign,” Ignacio said.

The city maintains reformation centers or Bahay Pagasa for those who were arrested during the city police operations.

“Our campaign is not only on the arrest of suspected drug pushers and user but also on the rehabilitation because it should be a cycle so that there will be no problem,” Ignacio said.

The city has a telephone hotline where they concerned citizens may relay information to the local police, according to the official.

“Some people are still not aware that we have a new dispensation under the Garbo administration. Maybe from time to time, people will be more cooperative in the anti-drug campaign,” Ignacio said.

The local government has pledged support to the city police in terms of equipment and funds for anti-crime operations.

“We are supporting our PNP. We will be buying additional vehicles and we will provide gasoline to sustain their operations,” Ignacio said.
