Mabalacat City Government Celebrates 120th Philippine Independence DayJune 13, 2018 1:00 am / News
MABALACAT CITY – Despite the gloomy weather, the Mabalacat City Local Government Unit, along with the Department of Education-Mabalacat Division and Mabalacat City College, held a short yet meaningful program to commemorate the 120th Philippine Independence Day, morning of June 12, 2018 at Mabalacat Elementary School, Poblacion, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
The program began with the entrance of colors, followed by the participants who included Boy Scouts, Mabalacat City Officials, MCG Departments, and DepEd & MCC Officials. The Power Mabalacat City Center for the Arts led the doxology which was followed by a brief presentation on the history of the Philippine Flag, singing of the Phil. National Anthem, Pampanga Hymn and Mabalacat City Hymn.
Dr. Elizabeth O. Latorilla, Chief Curriculum Implementation Division, DepEd, welcomed the participants in the historical event. Whereas, Vice Mayor Christian Halili and Dr. Ma. Irelyn Tamayo, OIC-Schools Division Superintendent, DepEd Mabt., shared insightful and inspirational messages pertaining to the celebration.
Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, on the other hand, honored the sacrifices of the National and Local Heroes and took the chance to encourage the attendees to unite and continue fighting for the freedom of the country.
The Division of Mabalacat City Performing Arts performed a special production number followed by the singing of the Finale Song (Awit ng Pagtatapos) by the Mabalacat City Chorale and the closing remarks of Dr. Roger L. Nuqui, Chief, SGOD.
The City Officials, DepEd & MCC Officers, MCG Dept. Heads, PNP, BFP and other Guests proceeded to the second half of the program, which was the offering of flowers to the statue of Dr. Jose Rizal. This is to pay respect not only to Rizal but also to all the Filipino martyrs and heroes who sacrificed and fought for the freedom of the country.
