MCG Bags Hall of Fame for National Quality Corn Achievers AwardsNovember 16, 2018 5:17 am / News
DAVAO CITY – The Mabalacat City Government – City Agriculture Office proudly reaped the sweet and golden fruits of their labor as it bagged Hall of Fame Awards for National Quality Corn Achievers today, Nov. 15, 2018 at D’Leonor Inland Resort, Davao City.
The MCG bagged a total of three Hall of Fame Awards including one for Ms. Lourdes Balatibat, City Agriculturist and for Ms. Elizabeth M. Reyes, Corn Coordinator. This has been the third time the city received such recognition, thus making it qualified for the Hall of Fame.
City Councilor Jeng Yumul, Committee Chairperson on Agriculture believed that the support of the local govt to the farmers is one of the main reasons why the city thrives in the field of corn production.
City Administrator Rosanno Paquia also expressed his gratitude to Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and the Sangguniang Panlungsod for implementing programs that would help corn planters in the city to sustain their farming, which is also the key to food sustainability. City Legal Officer Atty. Emmanuel Ignacio also accompanied the team in representing the MCG in the awarding ceremony.
Aside from the plaques, the MCG also received a check worth P2 Million which will be utilized to fund more projects and programs on corn and other crop production in the city.
