MCG-CDRRMO Distributes IEC Materials for Disaster Preparedness to Public Elem Schools

MABALACAT CITY – To further raise awareness and promote disaster preparedness in the city, the MCG-City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) distributed IEC materials (books and posters) to all Public Elementary Schools in Mabalacat City today, Oct. 03, 2018.

A total of 4500 books titled “Gabay sa Kaligtasan sa Panahon ng Kalamidad” by Katherine Rose S. Soriano were provided to different Elem schools in the city. These will be given to the grade 5 pupils of the said institutions. Aside from such, each school also received two posters titled “Pagtugon sa Anumang Sakuna” which bears guidelines in case of a calamity.

Mayor Crisostomo Garbo graced the activity and urged the school DRRM Coordinators and principals to study the contents of the book and ensure that the pupils will learn and understand the guidelines. This will help them be prepared for any disaster at a young age, added Mayor Garbo. He as well recognized the efforts of the CDRRMO, headed by Jeffrey Santos, in informing the Mabalaquenos on disaster preparedness.

Aside from schools, the CDRRMO also targets to distribute posters in all Brgys in the city.
