MCG-City Agriculture Office, NFSTP Conduct Training of Trainers Orientation

MABALACAT CITY – To develop the technical capabilities of the stakeholders on Farmers Scientist Training Program operation and management, the MCG-City Agriculture Office, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute Region III, held a Training of Trainers Orientation last June 18, 2018, at Paradise Ranch, Calumpang, Mabalacat City.

Mayor Crisostomo Garbo graced the activity and encouraged the participants to use the said seminar to further enhance their skills thus helping more farmers in the city. Being a son of a farmer himself, Mayor Garbo shared his passion and love for Agriculture. Lourdes Balatibat, City Agriculturist, also expressed her support for the program.

Themed “Empowering the FSTP Partner agencies in region 3 for effective research and technology transfer services for enhanced and sustainable corn-based farming system” the orientation aimed to equip various Local Government Units, State Universities and Colleges, Government and Non-Government Organizations on the operational strategies of the FSTP.

Babylyn Lopez, Training Officer, ATI-RTC III, and Claudio Manalo, CAFC Chairman facilitated the orientation.
Jaime Jimenez, Brgy Capt, Calumpang and staff from the University of the Philippines Los Baños also attended the event.
