Earlier this month, The Maintenace Coordinating Group (MCG) under the supervision of the City Engineer’s Office headed by Engr. Rodrigo De Leon conducted simultaneous drainage rehabilitation and clearing operation in barangay Camachiles-Dona Anastacia and along the stretch of McArthur Highway.

This is in response to the complaints received by Mayor Crisostomo “Cris” Garbo from the residents of Dona Anastasia regarding the sanitation and cleanliness of their area. During the ocular inspection made by MCG, it was found out that the cause of flooding in the area is the absence of a well-maintained drainage system.

Additionally, MCG also cleaned up the drainage system in front of Mang Inasal in barangay San Francisco, removing the waste stocked in the unattended drainage. Engr. Robert Tabacon mentioned that during the operation, they also hammered and pulverized the unwanted concrete posts that encroached the national road.

Moreover, MCG extended the rehabilitation project to remove the unwanted concrete drainage cover in front of Caltex Station in barangay Mabiga. Dump truck and Boom truck were provided by EEI in order to hasten the job at hand.

According to Engr. De Leon, the team is looking at the possibility of extending the rehabilitation and clean-up operation for all the drainage systems around Mabalacat City.

The rehabilitation program is consistent with other Clean & Green projects of Mayor Garbo.
